Stefan Hügin https://explore.ebma.org/listing/stefan-hugin/ https://explore.ebma.org/listing/stefan-hugin/#respond Tue, 16 Jul 2019 23:24:37 +0000 https://explore.ebma.org/listing/stefan-hugin/ I started with guitar in the late 70s. Heard a 5 string banjo at a scout folk festival and was hooked. Discovered that it belongs to Bluegrass music. That‘s how the journey started. First I played with ‚Country Strings’, then founded my own band ‚Natural Grass‘ in the early 80th, with a real American guy in it. We recorded our own tape (!) ‚First Takes‘, later a  CD. We won a band competition and were invited to record one 1/2 of a LP. The Swiss TV invited us to perform live in the show called ‚Karussell‘.  During that time I started to play mandolin and a bit dobro. After a pause of more than 15 years (or so), I started  to reactivate the music and my instruments and voice in jam‘s. I am currently looking to start a band with a broader orientation than only ‚hard core‘ bluegrass and nice harmony’s singing. Just making ‚good music‘ with the bluegrass music instruments (could be jazz, country, contemporary, ragtime, classical, … too). If you want to give it a try, contact me. So long, stay tuned.
